Introducing Your Indian Wells City Council Candidate

Preserving the future of Indian Wells

Indian Wells is an exceptional, well-managed city and there are two open seats and one incumbent seat for the city council in this election cycle. I am running for City Council to protect our way of life in Indian Wells and because I have the experience and background to lead our city.

If elected in November, my focus will include:

  • Public safety inclusive speeding, traffic issues, fire, paramedic and police

  • Preserving the uniqueness of Indian Wells, which sets our city apart from every other city

  • Ensuring our beautiful landscaping and surroundings are maintained and enhanced

  • Prioritizing the city’s capital improvements for the benefit of our residents

  • Committed to maintaining fiscal responsibility and transparency

But my vision is broader as well. My purpose is to preserve, define and shape the future of our city. I am committed to maintaining fiscal responsibility, transparency and ensuring each resident is kept informed. This is imperative to maintaining the success of the beautiful City of Indian Wells.

For the past 21 years, I have been a corporate controller, a licensed realtor and real estate investor. I obtained my real estate license in 1987, when I was 19 years old. I solely owned a commercial construction company named Excel Fixtures, Inc. in the State of Georgia. I returned to California and became co-owner, principle and project manager of Penna Construction, Inc. My various experiences make me a strong and qualified candidate for the Indian Wells City Council.

I have initiated and organized fund-raising events for our neighboring Santa Rosa Plateau, which was severely damaged by a forest fire. I chaired an architectural committee for a 5-year term within a Jack Nicklaus golf course country club with 640 homes. I am a member of the Indian Wells Preservation Foundation. My wife of almost 25 years and I donate and support the Ophelia Project. We are also proud parents of six adult children and seven grandchildren.

For the past several years, I have been working with the current city leadership on various issues to keep myself informed. My promise to every citizen is to commit my time, utilize my life experiences and knowledge to add additional value to our city. I will proudly carry the torch being handed off in an effort to keep Indian Wells safe, beautiful, and fiscally thriving for many decades to come.

Join me in preserving and protecting the future of Indian Wells. I am asking for your vote this November.

I am endorsing Brian Penna for a seat on our City Council in Indian Wells.  Brian has shown a keen and knowledgeable interest in our City.  He is mindful, thoughtful and is of the mindset that Residents come first.  He believes the council should ever strive to preserve our quality of life in Indian Wells making him an excellent candidate for City Council. - Donna Griffith, Former Mayor of Indian Wells
